We rescued it from a beautiful home where it was trapped on the second floor due to a staircase remodel. The "rescue" involved some skillful work with a very nice Japanese hand saw. It is solid oak and is about 100 years old. It is still in great shape, and at 48 x 72 inches, it is one of the largest antique partners' desks that we have seen available. Has (4) drawers and lower stretcher. We installed brand new deep chocolate colored leather from . It is ready to ship. The lower section can be disassembled for easier shipping and delivery. A sturdy dowel in each leg makes it easy to set the top on the base, and the joints are stable enough with one long screw per leg (provided by us) and no glue, and the desk can be shipped in two sections if desired for easier moving. Glue would make the joints permanent and should be considered with caution.
