As the city continues to escalate sweeps while winter sets in, there will be an ever increasing need for cold weather supplies for our neighbors living outdoors. Coupled with the Fed’s very intentional refusal to fund SNAP benefits, everyone needs to eat.

Food insecurity of course is not new and will continue under capitalism even after SNAP is fully funded again. It’s the cause of requiring programs like SNAP in the first place. But we take care of us, we protect us.

If you have new or gently used items to donate, are in need of supplies, would like to contribute food to the mealshare, are in need of a fresh stack of hotcakes or just want to be in community and meet neighbors, we’re hosting a mealshare and cold weather supply collection at SGC Haus.
