At Lan Su Chinese Garden, we're the only public garden in the Pacific Northwest where you can experience a living collection of blooming lotus.

✨ We added 100 new lotus plants and 16 new varieties this year—including our first-ever Sacred Lotus, the iconic lotus most commonly grown in China.

💚 Scientists call it the "Lotus Effect"—its leaves naturally repel water and dirt, staying remarkably clean. For centuries, Chinese scholars admired this remarkable quality, making the lotus a symbol of purity, integrity, and noble character in scholar's gardens like Lan Su.

Peak bloom is expected in mid-to-late July, and the flowers bloom through August—don't miss this fleeting summer spectacle.
