“With Brahman, BREATH present their most ambitious work to date - an album that breaks the boundaries of Doom and unfolds as a spiritual ritual. Where other bands linger in gravity, BREATH opens up the space: between Eastern mysticism, Western heaviness and a meditative depth that puts the listener in a trance-like state. “Monastery of the Seven Sages” opens the album as a sacred prelude - a song that acts like a goal that takes you into another world. “Awen” and “Sanliurfa” are hypnotic journeys, carried by serpentine guitars, dense bass lines and the rhythmic power of djembe and drums. “Sages” and “Cedars of Lebanon” unfold as epic soundscapes - between spiritual incantation and doomous earthly gravity. “Hy-Brasil” closes the album as a mythical hymn - a song about the longing for the hidden that lies beyond the horizons.

The production is organic, warm and monumental at the same time. Rob Wrong (Witch Mountain, The Skull) gives the guitars extra depth, Lauren Hatch expands the cosmic dimension with Keys, TJ Minnich brings a ritual earthiness into play with the djembe. The result is an album that must be heard, but lived through. Breath, founded by Steven O’Kelly and Ian Caton, have evolved from their duo form to an open collective. Her roots in Doom and her experiences with traditional Indonesian gamelan music give Brahman a structure that goes far beyond Western conventions.
