Come and join us in celebrating the Bard!

If you're looking for a quick bite or dinner for the family, come by the Montavilla Burgerville on NE 82nd & Glisan between 4:00 - 8:00pm. 20% of food and drink sales will benefit PAE if you mention PAE and Billy's Birthday Bash when ordering. Be sure to sign the birthday card while you're there!

If you're looking to raise a glass and maybe say a few words, head on over to the Rose City Book Pub 1329 Northeast Fremont StreetPortland, OR, 97212. They are hosting a "Bring Your Own Passage" Open Mic from 7:00 - 9:00pm. Come grab a table and some food, and drop a few dollars in boxy, in advance of the event. PAE performers are going to kick things off around 6:30. You are welcome to bring a passage to read, or simply listen and support. 10% of sales benefit PAE if you tell them "I'm a friend of Will" when ordering.

Now Seeking Director – Summer Shakespeare: As You Like It

Portland Actors Ensemble (PAE) is seeking a dedicated and collaborative Director for our 2026 summer production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It.

Portland Actors Ensemble was started in 1970, with an expressed goal of bringing traditional theatre to a non-traditional environment, primarily local parks. PAE is the company originally known for their Free~Sheakspeare~in~the~Parks productions.

The Director will lead the artistic concept of the production and work closely with PAE staff, board members, and the creative team to bring this classic comedy to life.

Responsibilities include:

Attending all required rehearsals and production meetings according to the established schedule

Using both scheduled rehearsal time and additional outside preparation time to fulfill the creative responsibilities of the role

Providing a clear artistic concept and collaborating with actors and the creative team to realize that vision onstage

Working cooperatively with the music director, assistant director, costumer, stage manager, and PAE Board toward the shared success of the production

Maintaining a professional, respectful, and inclusive rehearsal and performance environment

Communicating any concerns or issues to appropriate PAE leadership in a timely manner
