Our article on my Sexual Integration Therapy model has been accepted and published by the Journal of Sexual and Relationship Therapy. Here is an excerpt with the link to the full accepted manuscript available at this link. https://galenfous.com/2024/06/06/2825/ SIT developed to support clients with s*xual concerns who do not find a solely cognitive-behavioral pathology model, nor an addiction treatment model effective. We examine the evolution of psychology’s problematic, top-down, subjective diagnostic codifications of normal versus abnormal, paraphilic, deviant or pathological s*xuality. SIT redefine normal s*xuality as uniquely personal. SIT puts the focus of treatment on the holistic integration of a client’s authentic s*xuality and pleasure, into the fabric of their everyday life. SIT supports clients experiencing internalized s*xual conflicts, compulsions or inhibitions to: define and explore their authentic s*xuality; resolve s*x-negative beliefs, shames, fears or past traumas that interfere with pleasurable s*xual expression; address compulsive, secretive use of s*x or p**n; examine why they are operating in secret and the impact of being out of integrity with themselves and loved-ones; consider any other factors that interfere with the honest, confident expression of their s*xuality. With support from current s*xual-health research and the use of survey data, the authors detail how SIT builds upon recent s*xual health models to better address individualized s*xual desires, problematic behaviors or s*xual inhibitions, not supported by other therapeutic model
