Throughout July, First Children's Finance - Oregon is hosting a three-part series on Writing a Child Care Business Plan. Knowing how to write a strong business plan is an essential skill to have to grow a sustainable business and to secure loan and grant funding, such as with BuildUp Oregon.

As Facilities Development Director, Hope guides child care providers and the BUO team through every phase of facilities development โ from site feasibility and acquisition to facility design and construction. She brings over 20 years of experience in urban planning and managing school facilities planning and development projects to this role.
Hope reflects on the importance of expanding access to child care, โAfter experiencing the challenges of finding affordable quality care for my own kids, I became interested in use my skills and experience towards improving child care.โ
Based in Los Angeles, Hope enjoys travelling, volunteering, and perusing the farmers market.

When Melody's Munchkins Preschool and Child Care received a Preschool for All Multnomah County Facilities Fund Renovation & Repair Grant, they installed a fence around three acres of outdoor space at their Corbett location.
The improvement may seem simple, but it transformed how children and teachers use the space every day. It created more opportunities for outdoor learning, exploration, and play.
