Three epic days spent filming in 360° for an upcoming Virtual Ocean Expedition story on the alewife migration up Maine’s Presumpscot River. 🐟

These little fish may not look like superheroes, but their comeback is one of New England’s great conservation success stories—and they’ve become local legends around Portland, Maine.

The Presumpscot Regional Land Trust team was instrumental every step of the way, helping us navigate permits, secure access to key locations, coordinate timing around the migration, understand regulations, and share their deep knowledge of the river and its restoration. Their support and enthusiasm made this project possible.
