The mayors of both Portland and Lewiston, the two largest cities in Maine, urged residents to look out for one another amid ongoing speculation that there may be increased ICE enforcement in Maine in the coming days.

Governor Mills joins several other Democrats who are already in the race for Senate. Candidates Graham Platner and Jordan Wood both say Mainers are looking for a new generation.
“I welcome Governor Janet Mills into this race. I have held over twenty town halls in every corner of Maine, from Rumford to Madawaska to Portland," Platner said in a statement. "Everywhere I hear the same thing: people are ready for change. They know the system is broken and they know that politicians who have been working in the system for years, like Susan Collins, are not going to fix it.”
US Senate candidate Jordan Wood weighs in on Gov. Mills' Senate run Wood said it would be amazing to be in the same race as the governor, but he's still fighting for that Senate seat.
