Recognizing a Need
Opportunities Kitchen was conceptualized in Sept 2017 after recognizing the disparity between a large disconnected young labor pool and the increasing demand for a skilled workforce by regional employers. We began working with local schools and nonprofits to discover avenues to affect economic change for youth thru skill development and job placement. Based on these findings we developed a curriculum and partners to procure employment for our students. Currently there are 12 volunteers, including renowned chefs, business leaders and teachers working to launch program.
