In case you also needed the reminder today that a cleaner house does not equal a happier home. I can find peace in the mess because it currently means we are all thriving and just leading busy lives. We are going to be ok.

Trying to take a break from editing a huge batch of dance photos. Thankfully for the moments my kids force me to stop and play with them. Ok, I mostly watch while working in the yard but I do try to take a moment and capture a moment.
My daughter said I should do a series of these photos throughout the summer so perhaps I'll actually get around to sharing them as well. We are just barely in June and I have a few shots for the series already.
Here's to taking a break in a mud bath, or watching a mud bath; however is more enjoyable for you.

My daughter's dance photo for the year. I have a lot of fun doing these studio shots. So much fun that we will be adding a studio to our house for an easy option for indoor sessions. Don't worry if the odd and quirky kid shots are what you are after, those will still be my focus. And to prove my point here's one of my son. He came with dad to pick up his sister after class and wanted his photo done too. So here he is in a random outfit with a slinky he found in the car. Whatever kid. Lol.

We went on a walk tonight and the light was perfect so we played under a tree in the park to snap some photos. I think they turned out PERFECT! Clearly I'm not one for overly posed photos. Lol

We moved last summer and I've not really lived in anything close to the suburbs like this since I was a kid. Even then I never lived in a neighborhood quite like this one, or maybe I just ever paid attention to things. Now days I can go on a walk or run with my dod pretty much every day and we go the same route which allows me to keep an eye out for anything new and different and any signs of the changing seasons. I like to keep my phone handy to catch fun little glimpses from a new angle. Currently it appears spring may be nearby; however I suspect we have one more nasty cold front before we really get to move into full bloom and my favorite time of year.

I hope neither of us are ever too old to stop and admire the pretty lights. Holiday lights are one of the few things I love about this time of year. I know winter just started but I'm already craving Summer!
I hope everyone has a fun and safe new year! I'm looking forward to a few things 2024 has in store for me.
