Final post of the Himeko/Welt row!

Aight now imma be honest. I love these cosplays, but they were nowhere near where we wanted them to be in time for con. Our wigs weren’t styled the way we wanted, our cosplays weren’t altered to our standards, and a lot more hiccups along the way. However, were it not for our wonderful Lip Sync Community, we wouldn’t have performed as well as we did! On Sunday, and I were running Cosplay Chess during Lip Sync rehearsal time. My dress was very long to the point I caught myself stepping on it multiple times during chess. I asked my lovely Lip Sync coords if we could do a quick “safety pin hem” so I wouldn’t step on it during my performance. They were so quick to answer and would be ready when I arrived! So, after we cleaned up our chess area, we had to rush over to get to rehearsal. Immediately Emily and another staff member rushed over, got down, and starting pinning me up. helped trim my wig up to where I could see and not be bombarded with the bangs, .vs.aesthetic supplied double sided tape so my b***s didn’t go flying out, and so many other offered words of encouragement as Saoirse and I practiced.
Y’all. When I say it takes a village, it does. The lip sync community is a HUGE reason to why I continue performing. It’s come such a long way since I started and it’s only grown into the most inclusive community I know! We all have each others back and want everyone to look and feel their best while they’re on stage. I usually have their backs, this time they had mine. and I couldn’t be more grateful. Thank y’all so so so much 💖
