Photos by // Here we go again. Over 58 million acres of National Forest in the U.S. is threatened. It’s the same controversy today as when I made these photos over 20 years ago for National Geographic magazine. Alaska’s Tongass, America’s largest temperate rainforest-intact with surviving 800-year old cedar, Sitka spruce and hemlock trees-is at the center of the fight. Over 400 species of wildlife including bald eagles, black and brown bears depend of the forest and our protections. Don’t be silent on this issue. Once wilderness is gone, it’s gone forever.
