The Federal government spends nearly $9 Billion per month in SNAP payments.

I'm grateful to our Democratic leadership that forced the hand of The White House to release the contingency food funds for households across America. It's only enough for a month or two!

We have a larger problem we should be discussing and not growing food locally for one another should be a part of it. Commercialized food for profit isn't a solution its a problem.

The 535 people elected to represent us in Congress should have their pay held until they reopen the government. Americans are losing because of this stalemate and regardless of the reasons, it's unacceptable. These "Leaders" should lead by example and also lose access to their pay, their medical and all the free transportation benefits they get flying cross country until further notice.

If that was policy, you could be that they would have this fixed before the end of the month!
