Yo yo!

Ive been working on a new project since I got home from tour. Ive always wanted to make a character that could be used for merch, designs, comics etc. I drew up designs and got a hold of a 3D printer and some paint.

Introducing the Hooded Homie.
New custom created and painted homies.

These are the first run of a new line of Earthlings merch. Grab yours while they last!

One Thing I dont hear artists talk about is post-tour blues.

Its very common to come home and immediately start feeling depressed, back into the daily grind of chores and work. After the extreme dopamine high that happens on tour your body is literally saying you had too much fun now we are going to be sad for a while.

This wasnt my first tour, I knew it was going to happen, so I prepared for it. My breathe coach Robbie Theodorious Man helped us prepare for the inevitable.

The biggest things that helped:

1. Diet - your gut provides the majority of your body's dopamine, so prebiotics and probiotics were great. We did the best we could to eat healthy - everywhere you go there is a choice - pick the healthiest option. We also had a cooler that we loaded with veggies and healthy protien snacks - big help.

2. Exercise - we did pushup competitions and challenged eachother to keep moving, first thing in the morning we woke up and did a little 15 minute routine of push-ups sit ups and squats. This kept our bodies from getting lethargic on long drive days.

3. Breathe work - we practiced various breathing exercises daily and developed a pre show ritual. This kept us tuned into our bodies and our daily capacity, some days we didn't have the energy and tried to force through it, thats how you lose your voice or get sick, we successfully avoided that this tour.

4. Communication - look, we are grumpy rappers with weird tendencies, but we always have good intentions and care about our brothers, we might snap or fight but at the end of it we recognize that we are all a work in progress, we had to regularly apologize and make sure what we said or did wasnt lingering for days. If we saw something we addressed it immediately and moved on with love.

When you hit the road with the goals we had we needed to be a self sufficient and smooth running machine. We needed to be tight, locked in and aware. The team came together last week and performed magic. We were better than we've ever been in 13 years of doing this.

However...

Now we are getting readjusted to civilian life, sounds silly, but its true. That takes time and patience. We are learning and growing together and I couldn't ask for a better team. So please be patient with us as we adjust.

Question for you: what are your practices that bring you joy? We need some ideas to fill our cup.

Have you seen the new video yet?

Right before tour we had a goal to make a music video on an iPhone - the concept was "Mad Scientist" - honestly with limited time and resources I think this captures the bizarre energy that you'll get from the crew on stage haha
