"As a cancer kid, I thought I might never reach my goals...The writing I spent so much time invested in during the months and years of chemo has brought me to a place where I hope I can tell other kinds of courageous people that their identity does not only rest in the way they look, what their body is doing, or where they are at momentarily in life."
Isabella has channeled her childhood cancer journey into a thoughtful body of writing.
Join us this month in sharing and honoring the voices of brave kids who have, or are facing childhood cancer.

Meet Tatiana!
Tatiana is a bright 5-year-old Wilms Tumor survivor who loves ballet, drawing, and all things princess Elsa. She treasures time with her family—her biggest source of strength—and dreams of becoming a nail technician one day. During Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, we celebrate Tatiana’s courage and honor kids like her who face childhood cancer with resilience and hope.

When Kinsley was one, she was diagnosed with pilomyxoid astrocytoma but that hasn’t stopped her from living life with joy, humor, and a whole lot of pink—her favorite color! Kinsley is huge motocross fan and the proud sister of Bailey, her brother and best friend. Her favorite quote is: “I can do anything if I put my mind to it”—a motto she truly lives by.

Kinsley is thrilled to be part of Moto for a Child's first year, representing Candlelighters.

Candlelighters started in 1977 when a group of families who kept seeing each other in the hall at Doernbecher decided they would be better equipped to face whatever came next in the pediatric cancer journey together. Now, our parent & caregiver support group meets monthly over zoom, and is facilitated by Dr. Maryanne Kabour, a pediatric cancer specialist. She, and other parents are eager to help and listen, so you don't have to do this alone.
