A dip in the cool blue wonder during the heat of summer feels so good with Dave Maes’s “Waiting for the Sun.” The contrast of the silhouetted tree and rock forms against the cerulean sky is refreshingly mysterious. A misty surrealistic dreamscape is a haunting reminder to look up.

From roots to the ground, today’s featured five move up (not down) to the forest floor (teaming with life and expression). These artists re-imagine and describe the intricacies and magic that unfolds beneath our feet. Leaf litter, stumps, puddles, riparian zones, and they embrace the wild …noticing everything!
