I used my all time favorite paint color for this, Dioxazine Violet, and it took 4 MONTHS to dry. I love the long working time of oil but that was stressing me out! It was finally dry enough to varnish mere days before my deadline 😮‍💨 Oil paint stresses me out sometimes.

This is the biggest and most personal piece in the show. Selkies are one of my favorite creatures from folklore and I've always felt a kinship to their idea after reading about them as a kid. After a brutal year and the devastating end to a decade long relationship I felt drawn to them more than ever. But I've found my skin and am returning to the sea 🦭 🌊
