Light the way, little one!
Loving early spring right now, but missing summer twilight in my hometown, lush with fireflies, heady with sweet grass scents.

I leveled up my beanie situation this year to include two made of cashmere and wow I never want to take them off. Here is a robin feeling quite happy with its beanie as well!

Week 3 of ‘s Golden Thread Challenge! Continuing with this quarter’s overarching Tokyo Story theme, this week’s prompt was Kanzashi. These are the beautiful hairpins and other hair accessories such as fabric flowers and clips used as ornamentation.

I sketched out two different directions for this prompt, a storyline scene and a flat collection showcase. Here is the showcase illustration. I limited myself to just two of the colors from the palette in order to create some restraints for myself on how I created the darks and lights and had a lot of fun with that. I also brought in the previous week’s Cranes and Ginkgo imagery as elements of the various pin designs. Which one would you wear??
