Healing can start with something as simple as tending a plant 🌱

In partnership with Raíces de Bienestar, we joined Charla: La salud mental y la jardinería in Washington County to explore the connection between mental health and gardening 💚

Community members came together to reflect, share, and get their hands in the soil. Each participant received a container garden to take home, creating a small, living space for care, grounding, and growth 🌿

Because sometimes support looks like conversation. And sometimes it looks like something you can water, nurture, and return to day after day 🌼

There’s something powerful about young people stepping into leadership and shaping the future with their own hands 🌱

Through Portland Public Schools’ Climate Friendly Public Schools Program, student teams are designing and leading climate action projects rooted in their own communities. Not in theory. In practice. In soil.

And when the community shows up alongside them, that’s where the magic deepens.

We were honored to host a field trip in partnership with , welcoming 25 high school students for a day of hands-on learning at their CROPS farm. Together, we explored farm operations, shared stories from the field, and planted seedlings that will carry this work forward long after the day ended.

Because climate action is not a solo act. It’s collective, it’s local, and it grows stronger when we invest in the leadership already taking root in our communities.

This work is made possible through a Portland Clean Energy Fund–funded project, supporting students as they turn ideas into action.

Early plant distribution day 🌱

For the first time, we’re hosting two distribution days thanks to the abundance coming out of our greenhouse. More plants moving into the community means more fresh food on people’s plates, more skills in people’s hands, and more resilience taking root where it matters most.

It’s a good day to grow something together 💚
