A $50 Ticket vs. Federal Law: The Truck Parking Trap 🚛🛑
A truck driver was recently fined $50 for resting on an off-ramp after finding out the area's only truck stop had closed. Under federal Hours of Service (HOS) rules, drivers must stop driving to prevent fatigue. But with no legal spots left, they are forced to choose between a DOT violation or an illegal parking ticket.
We rely on commercial drivers to keep our supply chain moving, yet the nationwide truck parking shortage continues to leave them stranded.

A $2.86 Million Cargo Theft Busted on I-70 🛑
A California driver is in custody after Greenfield, Indiana police intercepted a stolen load of Tungsten Oxide powder valued at $2.86 million. The driver allegedly used sophisticated fraudulent documents to pick up the high-value shipment in Pennsylvania.
The Tech Behind the Bust: Local police tracked and stopped the truck in real time using automatic license plate reading (LPR) camera technology.
👉 With identity-theft and paperwork-based fraud skyrocketing, how is your fleet verifying shipping documents before pickup? Let’s discuss in the comments! 👇

When was the last time you actually drove 55 mph in California? 🚛🛑
The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is reminding commercial drivers of the state’s strict rules after pulling over a semi-truck clocked at 74 mph in Santa Cruz. In California, any truck with 3+ axles—or any vehicle towing a trailer—is legally capped at 55 mph.
The stop has lit up social media with drivers on both sides of the fence:
⚠️ The Flow Factor: Many argue that having trucks travel 15–20 mph slower than the rest of traffic causes highway bottlenecks and aggressive passing by passenger cars.
✅ The Safety Factor: Others insist that keeping heavy commercial rigs at 55 mph is absolutely necessary to control stopping distances and keep the public safe.
Whether you agree with the law or not, CHP continues to actively enforce it, and a double-digit speeding ticket can severely hurt your CDL and your fleet's safety scores.
👇 Let’s discuss in the comments: Does the 55 mph truck limit make highways safer, or does the speed gap cause more traffic chaos? Drop your thoughts below! 👇
