With kids, it is usually easier. They do not wait for instructions.
They run, jump, try things — and immediately understand how the space responds to them.
Adults are often different. They first need to understand what they are supposed to do, whether they can do it wrong, how it works.
And that may be one of the best tests for any interactive experience. If it takes too long to explain, the entry into the experience is probably not that natural.
