January was wild! I recorded with , .pdx recorded with , we played 2 back to back awesome shows, saw release their new album into the world, I went to the club for the first time ever, and I got some dear friends to do some witchy things with me to celebrate Imbolc. While the weight and horrors of the world have felt so heavy and present, my art and my community have made me feel loved and cared for in ways that are hard to describe. Music always helps me navigate loss and tough feelings. This song connects me to so many, people I’ve lost, people that are far away. The practice of learning reconnects me to my teachers, those who taught me to play and those who taught me to listen. And it connects me to the birds, who remind me to sing no matter the weather, whether I know the words or not.
