As people of faith, we believe our love for our country is expressed through compassion, truth-telling, and a steadfast commitment to the common good. We give thanks for the freedoms we enjoy while recognizing that many still experience barriers to safety, opportunity, and belonging. This Independence Day, we pray for leaders with wisdom, neighbors with courage, and communities committed to justice for all.

However you're spending this Fourth of July - at a barbecue, watching fireworks, gathering with family, volunteering, or simply enjoying a quiet day - we hope you find moments of joy and connection. May we keep working toward a nation that more fully reflects God's vision of justice, peace, and abundant life.

Happy Father’s Day from FPC! Today we give thanks for fathers, grandfathers, stepdads, mentors, and all who have shared love, strength, encouragement, laughter, wisdom, and faithful guidance. We celebrate those who have shown up with compassion, offered a steady presence through life’s challenges, and reflected God’s care through their support and devotion to family and community.

We also recognize that Father’s Day can be complicated. Some among us grieve the loss of a father, carry wounds from difficult relationships, long for a father figure they never had, or remember someone who stepped into that role when it was needed most.

As the family of God, we celebrate those who nurture and encourage others while holding space for every story. May we remember that God’s love embraces us all, comforting, healing, and guiding us through every season.
