Collaboration in action. Yesterday, a large team effort was required to extract a couple of hikers off a ledge in Bayview. Thankfully, the hikers were relatively uninjured. This multi organizational effort is a result of years of combined teamwork, training and resource management. Thanks to Timberlake fire District, Northern Lakes Fire District, Spirit Lake Fire District, and Coeur d’Alene fire department for their collaborative efforts to ensure this event had the best outcome. We sent our technical rescue specialty engine, engine 15 to help with this complex job!

Huge thanks to Girl Scout Troop 2627 for the surprise visit to Station 4! They stopped by with cookies and dinner for our crew last week, and definitely made our day a little brighter. We appreciate your kindness and support more than you know!

Good morning, everyone and thank you!

We are incredibly grateful for the support shown by our community in yesterday’s election. Your trust and investment in our department means a great deal to all of us.

This outcome allows us to continue providing the level of emergency response, service, and support our community depends on every day. We do not take that responsibility lightly, and we remain committed to being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

Thank you for your confidence, your support, and for standing behind your firefighters, EMS personnel, and staff. We are proud to serve this community!

Election Day is here, Kootenai County!

Our crews show up for this community every day, and today is one of those days where everyone gets to show up in their own way.

If you’ve already voted, thank you. If not, there’s still time to get it done.

We’d love to see it—drop a pic in the comments with your “I Voted” sticker or ballot drop 📸

Proud to serve a community that shows up.
