My craftsman Dad built this Doppelgänger of Scout many years ago. He was getting tired too. I took him into my shop and restored him with fresh legs, a bath, and some touch-up paint. Now he is standing nose into the wind here on our hill top. Another reminder.

Scout is on the glide to sweet 16 - and is enduring several health issues. He still hikes with me every morning through these woods. But where he used to soar over logs like this one, now he hops up on then down the other side. Our hikes are much shorter now. But the heart is still willing though several joints and muscles are battling back.

Happy 14th birthday for Scout. We hike these woods every day, but this was a special day!
