Tony's Pizza Pit

On Tuesday, January 31st, our community endured a tragedy on Main Street in Poughkeepsie. A 3-alarm fire destroyed several homes and businesses displacing many members of our community and leaving others without work. Thankfully, no one was reported injured by the raging fires, but several families living above and adjacent to Tony's Pizza lost their homes and nearly everything that they own.

After witnessing the extent of the damages firsthand, and upon receiving an outpour of support and countless messages, many of which asked how one could help, we concluded that the families displaced are in need of all the help they can receive. We are thus organizing a fundraiser to assist the families that were living above Tony's Pizza - all proceeds will be given to those families. We appreciate all of the outreach and community support so many have shown!

Sad to report that this was the state of our beloved Tony’s Pizza as of this morning. Unfortunately, a raging fire took our restaurant from us overnight. We want to take a moment to thank all the firefighters and emergency responders that came selflessly to our aid to ensure everyone’s safety and security.

We have enjoyed serving our community since 1969, and have every intention to continue to serve our loyal customers for another 100 years. Our founders, Tony & Maria Balbo, taught us the valuable lessons of grit, determination, and passion. We do not intend to stray from those ideals today. We will be back very soon, better than ever and ready to serve our community once again. Thank you to all who reached out with their concerns and well wishes!
