Congratulations Carter, JT and Brian!

The 2026 IRONMAN Lake Placid took place on Sunday, July 19. The race weekend featured a 2.4-mile swim in Mirror Lake, a 112-mile bike course through the Adirondack Mountains, and a full marathon finishing at the historic Olympic speed skating oval.

Three Dolphins completed this renowned triathlon. Carter finished in the top 20% of his division with a time just under 12 hours. Brian and JT each finished in the top 40% of their divisions, with Brian racing for just under 14 hours and JT just over 13 hours. Congratulations to all for these stellar performances!

Dolphins Masters swimmer and lifeguard, Art, competed in the “4th annual swim run world championships friendship battle 2026”, which included 166 athletes from 14 different countries. The virtual swim run event lasted 30 days with the goal to run and swim as far and long as you could with the overall total distance determining your place in the competition. Art ran and swam a total of 306.5 km which equals 190.5 miles good for 7th place overall out of 90 male athletes and 1st in the 50+ age group category.

Some Dolphins Masters Swimming IBMers and retirees recently represented the group at the IBM Poughkeepsie Activity Fair to share the opportunity to join us in the Fall. Lots of interns and new hires visited the table to be recruited! The timing clock was a big attraction, LOL.
