What is your “why” 🤔? Is it something bigger than yourself, a catalyst for change, or the drive that keeps you going when you are tired?

The R.E.A.L. Skills Network, Inc is one of my “whys.” It is a place where art and community meet to foster connections, celebrate cultural identity, and impact social change.

For every book sold directly through my website of “Be The Poem: Living Beyond Our Fears,” a portion of the revenue is donated to R.E.A.L. Skills Network, Inc. to support the children of the City of Poughkeepsie.

For the last two summers, under the leadership of Sakima McClinton and the Board, we have successfully trained youth for summer employment and placed them with local companies. One of our current goals is to reopen our doors to elementary students. https://realskillsnetwork.com/

There is an intersection between everything I do.
Love is my driver, not fear or money. However, I understand that for many, fear—whether of scarcity or not belonging—is a very real and powerful motivator.

We often abandon our dreams because of our own internal noise (RUFUS) rather than external “dream stealers.” I don’t believe in “dream stealers.” The challenge is learning how to get out of our own way. FAITH. We hold immense potential within us, so do not be too hard on yourself. Learn from your missteps, stay awake, and think critically. Life/Breath is a gift. Do not give up on you.
