Teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving were on full display in our preschool classroom! 🧲✨

Using magnetic tiles, our young builders worked together to plan, create, and bring their ideas to life. As they built towers, houses, and imaginative structures, they practiced important early learning skills such as communication, cooperation, spatial awareness, and critical thinking.

Hands-on building activities like these help children learn that working together can make their ideas even bigger and better. We love watching their imaginations grow one tile at a time! πŸ’™

Community Family Development was grateful to attend this morning’s discussion at Vassar College, hosted by Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, on the child care crisis impacting families across our region.

We appreciate the insights shared by panelists Sabrina Jaar Marzouka, Commissioner of the Dutchess County Department of Community and Family Services; Madeline Henriquez, Executive Director of DAY ONE Early Learning Community; Chris White, Vice Chancellor for Workforce Development and Upward Mobility at SUNY; and moderator Jill Gomez, Executive Director of the Poughkeepsie Children's Cabinet.

The conversation highlighted the significant challenges families face in accessing affordable, high-quality child care and the far-reaching impact those challenges have on children, parents, employers, and the overall strength of our communities. As an organization committed to supporting children and families through early childhood education, CFD values opportunities to engage in these important discussions and collaborate on solutions that promote family stability, workforce participation, and long-term regional growth.

Addressing the child care crisis requires collective action, and we are encouraged by the shared commitment of community leaders, educators, policymakers, and service providers working together to create a stronger future for children and families throughout the Hudson Valley.
