💙 Meet Kevin 💙

Kevin has been waiting for someone to see past his kennel and see the incredible dog he truly is.

At just 2 years old, this handsome German Shepherd mix has so much life ahead of him. He is fully vetted and ready for a fresh start, but shelter life has been especially hard on this energetic boy. Kevin has endless enthusiasm and loves to be on the move, but spending day after day in a kennel means he never really gets the chance to burn off all that energy. We know he would blossom in a home where he can run, play, learn, and simply be a dog.

Kevin has a seizure disorder, but don't let that scare you away. Since starting his medication, he has not had a single seizure. He takes his medication twice a day, and that's all it takes to keep him feeling his best. He's proof that a medical condition doesn't define who he is—it just means he's looking for someone willing to give him the same chance every dog deserves.

Kevin has done well with other dogs, although his excitement can sometimes be a little overwhelming. He's still a young dog who will need basic obedience training and help with potty training, but with patience, consistency, and love, he has so much potential. Underneath all that excitement is a sweet, loyal dog just waiting for someone to believe in him.

Because we are a shelter, we are unable to test Kevin with children or cats, so those are unknowns at this time.

Kevin isn't looking for a perfect family—he's looking for a family willing to give him a chance. Someone who understands that the best dogs aren't always perfect from the start. Sometimes they're the ones who need a little extra time, a little extra patience, and a whole lot of love.

The shelter is looking for volunteers to come in and walk dogs and help fill peanut butter kongs. We are open Monday - Friday from 9am-5pm and closed on government holidays and weekends. We will be closed this Friday 07-03-2026 in observance of the Fourth of July. All volunteers must be 18 years or older, and must fill out our volunteer application.
