Mohawk Creek Farm

Our F1 cross from last year between Ermine Ameraucana and Brahma have turned out nicely with good size, and either ermine or black feathering. They are laying green eggs, and some even have speckles. Pictured below are the brown eggs they hatched from beside the green eggs they are laying.

We are expecting a hatch this week of F1 x F1 crosses. If you are interested in adding some of these large and colorful birds to your coop please reach out.

This photo gives you an idea of why Idaho Pasture Pigs are a great alternative to other breeds. It shows the travel corridors over multiple weeks as the pigs were rotationally grazed for 1 week at a time in different areas. The far right was 2 weeks ago with 1 week of regrowth, keep in mind the severe lack of rain is slowing normal growth. The middle section was this past week. And the far left is the new ground.

Notice how the ground is not rooted up like traditional pigs would do. They prefer to graze on the grass and do a great job removing the weeds mixed in.
