96th Infantry Division

Friends, I recently received a message from someone that brings to mind a topic I want to ask all followers of this page. Do we have any living Deadeyes left? I will ask that anyone that can (with respect to their privacy no current locations or personal info) mention the survivor’s name, anything about their wartime experiences in the 96th, and their life after the war. Let’s remember them, let’s honor them, we should all be committed to preserve their memories and history for our children. I would also encourage anyone that had a Deadeye relative or friend that has passed, share his name, the date he passed and anything you would like about his wartime life, and his life afterwards. Let’s remember them. Remember the Deadeyes!

Tomorrow is Veterans Day. Best wishes to all veterans in all branches of the World’s greatest military. Without those that serve their country and defend us against foreign and domestic enemies, our ability to enjoy freedom and the pursuit of happiness would be impossible. To all current living veterans and those that have gone to greater glory, Thank You.

Many people don’t know why November 11 is Veterans Day. It’s easy to remember, November 11 at the 11th hour The Armistice ending WWI was signed. It became Veterans Day much later, but it became a day to thank all veterans that served their country and took the oath to defend the Constitution for all.

Now, yes I slipped up and failed to post a remembrance of this day yesterday. I did fail you my friends, and I apologize to my daddy and every veteran including my brother, my brother in law, my son, my father in law, and the over 50 ancestors that all served. Let us never forget them, their service is why we are the greatest nation in the world. I thank all veterans, friends, family and fellow countrymen. I hope your day was a great one!
