Never forgotten….

On this day 84 years ago, more than 2,400 U.S. service members and civilians were killed and another 1,100 were injured after a Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. The attack destroyed or sank dozens of U.S. Navy battle ships, including the USS Arizona, and destroyed 188 aircrafts.

This day is designated as National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day to honor those who died on that fateful day in Hawaii. To those who lost their lives in service to our country, thank you for your sacrifice and service.

Today, we celebrate the founding of the Marine Corps Reserve and honor the incredible men and women who serve our nation with dedication, bravery, and unwavering commitment. Since 1916, the Marine Corps Reserve has played a vital role in supporting our active-duty forces, protecting our freedoms, and responding to crises at home and abroad.

To all the Marine Reservists and their families, we thank you for your sacrifices and service. Your readiness and resilience inspire us every day.
