THE ARTS COUNCIL OF PRINCETON LAUNCHES “SEW MANY MASKS” TO LEAD THE COMMUNITY IN MAKING CLOTH FACE MASKS FOR DONATION

With the new recommendation that everyone should wear a non-surgical mask when they go out in public during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Arts Council of Princeton (ACP) is launching “Sew Many Masks.”

The Arts Council has set up a process for community members to lend a hand and help increase the supply of masks by cutting fabric into patterns for mask making or sewing the fabric into face masks. The completed masks will then be available for pick-up for those who need them. Details on participation can be found on the Arts Council website: artscouncilofprinceton.org.

“We must all still follow the stay at home order, and staying at home is the single most powerful tool we have to control COVID-19,”says Princeton Mayor Liz Lempert. "But on the limited occasion when you need to go out, it is important to wear a cloth mask or face covering in order to help prevent the further spread of the disease. We are incredibly thankful to the Arts Council of Princeton for stepping up to coordinate a community mask-making effort so that everyone has access to a cloth mask.”
