Our good friends at McCarter Theater in Princeton are presenting the amazing, five-time Grammy winner, Angelique Kidjo on April 11 for an electrifying evening of music spanning her extraordinary career. The performance is part of a limited six-city U.S. tour before Kidjo continues to Europe for a series of international festival appearances.

A dynamic live performer known for her powerful voice and commanding stage presence, Kidjo brings a genre-defying sound that bridges African traditions with global influences. Her performance at McCarter offers audiences a chance to experience both beloved songs and new music from HOPE!! in an intimate setting.

Blue Curtain Presents Fabiola Mendez and her group at Princeton High School Performing Arts Center on Saturday, July 19 at 8:00 pm - FREE

Fabiola Méndez is a Puerto Rican cuatro player, singer, educator, and Emmy-nominated composer focused on the exploration of culture and identity through story-telling. Her music is a blend of Folk, Afro-Caribbean & Jazz, with the cuatro, a ten-string traditional guitar of Puerto Rico, as the lead melody. Recognized as the Latin Artist of the Year by the Boston Music Awards, Fabiola and her band have performed on national and international stages, including: NPR Tiny Desk, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC, the Hatch Memorial Shell in Boston, Santurce Fine Arts Center, among many others. She is the recipient of the Quincy Jones Award, the Brother Thomas Fellowship and the ASCAP Lucille and Jack Yellen Award, and has collaborated in productions by Disney+, PBS Kids, and HBO Max. Fabiola holds a Bachelor's in Music from Berklee College of Music, where in 2018 she became the first graduate to play the Puerto Rican cuatro as principal instrument.

The Best of World Music Returns to Princeton's Pettoranello Gardens Amphitheater

(PRINCETON, NJ) -- Blue Curtain, a Princeton summer tradition, returns to Pettoranello Gardens Amphitheater with two free concerts in July - Dobet Gnahoré on July 13th and Nanny & Dani Asiss on July 20th. The venue is located at Route 206 and Mountain Avenue. In case of rain or extreme heat, the shows will be moved to the Princeton High School Performing Arts Center at Franklin Avenue and Walnut Lane.

Get ready to be dazzled by the phenomenal talent of Grammy Award-winner Dobet Gnahoré on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 8:00pm. Hailing from Coté d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) Dobet Gnahoré is one of Africa’s hottest and most beloved talents. With her amazing voice, incredible dance moves, powerful presence, and color style sense, Dobet Gnahoré appeals to fans of Angelique Kidjo, Rokia Traoré, Fatoumata Diawara, Oumou Sangaré and other divas of African music. Dobet Gnahoré is currently on tour with concert stops in New York City, Berkeley, Vancouver, and Princeton to support her newest album Zouzou.

Blue Curtain, co-sponsored by the Princeton Recreation Department is a nonprofit dedicated to presenting the highest quality of culturally diverse music and dance to the audiences in the Princeton area.
