As a marketer, I look forward to holidays. They're an opportunity to be clever, creative, and think outside the brand kits. But Memorial Day is different.
There are no words to convey the meaning. No aesthetic ways to represent the heaviness of what today represents. No tactful way to acknowledge strangers giving their lives for our freedoms. Yet, the alternative of not posting is simply not an option. They deserve our recognition and our gratitude, even if it will never be enough.
Instead of worrying about metrics or grids, my only focus today is reminding people there is nothing 'happy' about Memorial Day. It is a day for reflection. For gratitude. For doing some serious soul searching on what we can do in our daily lives to make their deaths not be in vain.
If only for today, let us be united. 🤍

Underrated perk of working with me: I'm always cracking jokes (mostly at my own expense) and hyping you up so content days feel natural and fun instead of intimidating.😏
Thank you for these candid behind-the-scenes shots and all the incredible work you do for !

Building a business while raising a baby is the most beautiful, brutal thing I've ever done.
The pull is constant. The guilt is real. The exhaustion can't be understood from the outside.
But then she watches me. Really watches me. And she doesn't see my mess. She doesn't see the burnout or the late email or the dinner I ordered instead of cooked. She sees her mama. Working. Creating. Showing her what's possible.
She'll grow up knowing her mom had a dream and didn't put it down, even when it was hard.
To every working mom in the thick of it right now, the pulled-in-every-direction, not-enough-hours-in-the-day, running-on-coffee-and-love moms, Happy Mother's Day.🤍

Not the typical *~pretty~* content I try and post, but something close to my heart I felt inclined to share.🤍
This was a random post from a Mom group I'm in on Facebook that happened to pop-up in my feed. I initially assumed it was from a marketing group and didn't think much of it but as I was about to scroll by I noticed the group name and it made me pause.
These are not women that talk about marketing or know 'best practices' or social media strategy. No, these are women that make up your audience, sharing their authentic opinions.
I'll be the first to admit, AI IS cool and can be super useful for many things. I have been using it daily since chat launched their "research preview" in 2022. HOWEVER, there are also things it should NOT be used for - and generating pictures of your products is one of them.
I haven't been vocal about this topic because I feel like coming from me, it sounds like I'm threatened or worried about my job and it could be perceived that I'm pushing an agenda. That is NOT the case! I am anti gatekeeping and am always enthusiastic about helping DIY marketers, so I'm breaking the silence.
If you have a product, please please please do not ruin your credibility by using AI photos! The networks are onto it (as you've probably noticed with the AI warning labels), the algorithms are onto it, and most importantly - your audience is onto it.
People don't want to see another AI picture, they want to see YOU, YOUR BUSINESS, and YOUR PRODUCTS - authentically!
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk 🙂↕️🎤. Would love to hear your opinions!
