๐Ÿ™ Thank you, Princeton.

To everyone who came by the station today โ€” thank you. Thank you for the smiles, the questions, the kids who got to sit in the ambulance, and thank you for being the community that makes PFARS possible.

A special thanks to the bent spoon for the ice cream, and to every PFARS member who gave their Sunday to host all of you.

See you next year. ๐Ÿš‘

๐Ÿš‘ A first for our channel: a short video on what's actually broken about how EMS gets funded in New Jersey.

Last week our Executive Director Ari Meisel represented Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad at an EMS roundtable convened by Senator Andrew Zwicker with Assembly members Roy Freiman and Mitchelle Drulis, and senior officials from the New Jersey Department of Health.

Squad leaders from across the district talked through the real pressures facing community EMS: rising costs, declining reimbursement from Medicaid and Medicare, what happens when local squads fail, and the technical rescue work that nobody pays for.

The short version: New Jersey relies on EMS like it's essential, but funds it like it's optional.

Watch the full thing, and if you live in Princeton and have ever wondered how the people who answer your 911 call actually get paid, this is the answer.

๐Ÿš‘ PFARS is hiring EMTs โ€” Full-Time and Per Diem

Princeton doesn't slow down in the summer, and neither do we. PFARS responds to 3,500+ calls a year and the season ahead is our busiest. We're hiring certified EMTs to join one of the most capable community EMS teams in New Jersey.

Full-Time EMT โ€” Starting $25.22/hr, step program to $32.50/hr. Health, dental, vision (employer-covered). Employer-paid life insurance and long-term disability. 5% employer-sponsored 401(k). Paid technical rescue training.

Per Diem EMT โ€” Starting around $27/hr. 16-hour monthly minimum. Flexible scheduling โ€” pick up shifts that fit your life. Ideal for career EMTs looking to add hours at a strong agency.

87 years of service. 3,500+ calls a year. A team you'll be proud to be part of.

Between calls, someone's always cooking. ๐Ÿณ

Meet Greg โ€” one of PFARS's career EMTs and, by unanimous squad vote, our most dedicated chef. His teammates surprised him with a custom PFARS chef's jacket, because around here, we look out for each other on and off the rig.

This is what it means to be part of a team that's more than a job.

Every note in this song is a call answered.

"Two Mount Lucas Road" is our story โ€” but PFARS runs on your support. 3,500 calls a year. 24/7/365. All made possible by donors like you.

If this music moves you, we'd be honored if you'd help fund the squad behind it.
