This morning King Phillip was laid to rest and returned to dwell among the stars like all the greats before him.
Though I technically purchased King Phillip, I consider Crystal Neilson-Hall 's faith in my stewardship, to be the greatest gift of my life.
King Phillip was grand in his size, presence, appetite, wisdom and grace. He loved children, apples, banannas, fresh alfafa, and a good death nap in the sunshine.
Anyone who took the time to sit with King Phillip benefitted from a profound peace rare in the world. King Phillip, and his gentle eyes, knew of worlds far beyond ours and in his own way, made me a far different person...a better person.
The last week was so hard, and also one last gift from our benevolent King. Though his body was worn down and failing, his wisdom and grace held fast to his last breath. And when that last breath was drawn, the sky opened to weep with us in our loss.

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood

Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood

Who can say if I've been
Changed for the better?
I do believe I have been
Changed for the better
