A full house and even fuller hearts this week at Windmill Veterinary Center 🐾💛

Here are the sweet faces of who stayed with us this week! —each one bringing their own personality, cuddles, and plenty of tail wags. Safe to say, it’s been a week full of wagging tails and happy pups!

Thank you for trusting us to care for your dogs like our own while you’re away 🐶✨

Last week was National Veterinary Technician Week! We are so beyond grateful for each and every one of our Vet Techs and loved celebrating all of you last week! Our incredible Technicians are multi-talented, compassionate advocates for all our furry friends - where would we be without them?

We're feeling paw-sitively patriotic this Independence Day, and we hope you are too! Nothing says 'freedom' like a dog's wagging tail. Happy 4th!

We are so excited to welcome our newest DVM to the Pack! Dr. Hannah Lam is joining the Kings Crossing Animal Hospital team in Kingwood, TX! Dr. Hannah Lam grew up in Kingwood and is excited to be back. Prior to becoming an Associate DVM, she worked as a Vet Tech here at King’s Crossing. She is a loyal Aggie and received both her DVM and her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences from Texas A&M University. She is passionate about all aspects of veterinary medicine and enjoys building connections with people and their pets. In her free time, you’ll find her dancing, attending Aggie football games, trying new restaurants downtown, learning to play the piano, and training her Labrador and Husky.

In celebration of Mental Health Awareness Month, several of our frontline workers across various regions and teams produced our first ever field-led training on Destigmatizing Mental Health in the Workplace! This amazing team collaborated so well to produce a very informative, educational, and engaging workshop to continue our mission of building cultures of wellness, inclusion, and trust in our centers. Ayesha Sosa, Marissa Burcham, Kelli Call, and Zachary Paul and their fabulous advisor Christie Germans are shining examples of and our values! Thank you for reminding all of us that

Last week, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Destination Pet’s field leaders participated in QPR Gatekeeper training and certification with none other than the incredible Dr. Mia Cary. QPR stands for “Question, Persuade, Refer” and is a data-driven and conversation-based way of supporting folks who are experiencing su***de ideation.

In our commitment to being the provider of choice for pets and those who care for them (feel free to tweak), we believe that workplace wellbeing starts with ensuring our leaders have the training and resources to create cultures and practices of wellbeing in their pet and vet care centers.
