I’ve been trying to find snacks that aren’t basically just dessert all day 😅
not cutting all sugar… not doing anything extreme
just trying to mix in better options
so it’s not constant carbs + sugar from the minute they wake up
we opened this box and the kids were immediately all over it 😂
some things are a yes
some we’re still figuring out
but this is how I’m approaching it:

as a dentist… I see the same pattern over and over
kids snacking on things like goldfish and “fruit snacks” all day
• mouth breathing
and then we wonder where the cavities come from 😅
I’m not taking snacks away
and I’m definitely not cutting sugar completely
but I am trying to swap a few things out
and balance it better
so instead of goldfish all the time…
we’re trying options like this 👀
not perfect… just better
I really thought packing for this trip would be easy 😅
and then I remembered…
we don’t have this weather in Texas 😂
It’s not just cold or hot
it’s like 50 → 60 → 64 → 72
and somehow that middle part makes zero sense
Every outfit I tried on worked for one version of the day…
and failed for the rest 😭
And honestly I know I’m not the only mom who feels like this
Like when we actually have to wear real clothes and not scrubs or athleisure…
what are we even supposed to wear 😅
especially for days where you’re doing a little bit of everything
At this point I feel like I need 17 different personalities just to get dressed
So if you actually know how to layer for this… help me 😂

Invisalign — and before you say anything, yes my kids wear it too. Not for straight teeth. For jaw development. The way a jaw grows affects everything from how they breathe at night to whether they end up needing surgery as an adult.
Everyone around me is treating the symptoms. I’m just quietly working on the reason they keep coming back.

I spike a headache or a migraine maybe once or twice a month… It used to be almost every single day. The more stressed I was and r the more patients I saw it got worse…
So naturally I thought it was work, my labor intensive job combined with the emotional stress of people telling you they hate you every day 😭 no offense 😘
Once I realized grinding clenching and muscle compensation (I.e. those nots in your neck that won’t go away) were the root cause… I changed these two things & they virtually disappeared.
1. Pre sleep hygiene! Making sure I can nose breathe!
2. Working out the tension & the bits from where they start!
I start with a sublingual massage! (Under your tongue! 👅) hit up my stories/highlights for this one!
Then the 3 major closing muscles
Temporalis
Masseter
Pterygoid - recently made popular by LeAnn Rimes. Only this is a massage you can do for yourself at home.
