As we recognize Save-A-Life Day during EMS Week, we know the forecast may be bringing rain this week… but in Texas, heat safety information is never really out of season. ☔☀️
Prosper Fire Rescue encourages residents to stay mindful of heat-related illness as temperatures continue to rise heading into summer. Staying hydrated, taking breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and recognizing warning signs early can make a lifesaving difference.
Signs of heat-related illness can include:
• Dizziness or confusion
• Heavy sweating or hot, dry skin
• Nausea
• Rapid pulse
• Fainting
Never leave children or pets in a vehicle, even for a short period of time, and remember to check on elderly family members, neighbors and those more vulnerable to extreme heat.
Rain or shine, a few simple precautions can help save a life. 🚑
