Last week, Digital Archivist and Special Collections Librarian Professor Denison presented at the “Preserving Portuguese Immigrant History Symposium,” organized by the Portuguese American Digital Archive team at UMass Lowell. Professor Denison discussed the Rhode Island Portuguese American Archives here at RIC and shared information about the Cape Verdean-related collections, as well as the initiatives for the Special Collections new Portuguese American collections and exhibits.

It’s Ground Hog Day!

Thanks for voting in our poll. The desire for an early Spring won by almost a 3:1 ratio!

Welcome back! We’re kicking off the semester with a call for submissions to the Friends of the Adams Library First Year Research Prize for a $500 award and a winner’s reception. 🎉

Did you complete a project (e.g. paper, presentation, media, visual art, etc.) that demonstrates independent research and/or use of information sources in Fall 2025 during your first semester at RIC? If yes, then submit a copy of your project using the Library’s online submission form. It only takes a minute or two and you could be selected as the First Year Research Prize winner.
