Early detection starts with knowing your skin.

You see your skin more than anyone else.

That makes self-checks important.

Look for: New spots, changing spots, sores that do not heal, spots that bleed, moles with uneven shape or color or anything that looks different from your other spots

When you know your skins, you can notice changes sooner.

When was the last time you checked your skin for changes?

A mole does not have to look “scary” to deserve attention.

That’s why the ABCDE rule matters.

Here’s what ABCDE stands for:

A is for Asymmetry: one half of the mole doesn’t match the other.
B is for Border: the edges are uneven, blurred, or irregular.
C is for Color: there are multiple colors or unusual shades.
D is for Diameter: it’s larger than a pencil eraser.
E is for Evolving: it changes in size, shape, color, or feel.

Change is one of the biggest warning signs.

So don’t just ask, “Does this look bad?”

Ask, “Has this changed?”

Take a quick photo once a month so you can compare it over time.

If something looks new, different, or changing, don’t guess.

Let one of our providers take a look. 👀

Sunscreen is not your whole skin cancer plan.

Yes, you need it.

But sunscreen works best when you use it with other protection.

- Wear a wide-brimmed hat
- Use sunglasses with UV protection
- Look for shade when the sun is strong
- Wear protective clothing when you can
- Reapply sunscreen, especially after sweating or swimming

Skin cancer prevention works better when you layer your protection.

Protect your skin before the damage shows. How do you protect your skin when you spend time outdoors?

Skin Cancer Awareness Month is your reminder to check your skin and protect it daily.

Skin cancer is common, but finding it early can make a big difference.

If you notice a new growth, a mole that changes, a spot that bleeds, a sore that won’t heal, or anything that looks different from the rest, that's when it's time to see a dermatologist.

You know your skin best, but a dermatologist knows what to look for.

Do a self-check once a month.

Then schedule your professional skin check with one of our providers.
