Weber/RENEW and Clean Slate RI are teaming up for an informational and qualification session about expungement.
Have you been impacted by the criminal justice system? If qualified you can get your record expunged and get a 2nd chance. Your whole life shouldn’t be defined by a mistake from your past.
At this session you'll learn how expungement works, what can be expunged, if you're eligible, and how to apply.

We had an incredible time participating in Rhode Island’s 8th Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Roger Williams Park!
We are grateful for every opportunity to educate the public about the Clean Slate Act, Stop Torture RI’s efforts to improve conditions for individuals in solitary confinement, the push for body cameras for correctional officers, and other expungement and criminal justice reform legislation we proudly support.
As wonderful as the music, food, and fellow vendors were, the highlight of the day was connecting with the people who came out to celebrate. Community members welcomed Clean Slate RI with open hearts, open minds, and a genuine desire to support individuals who have earned a second chance through automated expungement.
Most importantly, we met several people who need our help—and that’s exactly why we do this work. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table, shared their stories, asked questions, and joined us in building a more just and equitable Rhode Island.

Direct Action for Rights and Equality (DARE), the Stop Torture RI Coalition, and impacted family members are mourning the loss of Ross Amos, 34, who died on May 30, 2026, while incarcerated at the Adult Correctional Institutions (ACI) in Cranston. In response to the death, we held a vigil, with mock caskets representing lives lost to ACI neglect, outside the Rhode Island State House yesterday.
“Our loved ones are not sent to prison to die," said Melanie Perez, an organizer with Behind the Walls. "They are human beings, worthy of dignity, care, and coming home alive.”
