I’m a registered dietitian and nutritionist who specializes in eating disorder treatment. I began my career at an eating disorder clinic and gained valuable experience there for six years. I opened up a private practice in 2014 and finished my master's in public health in 2015.
I specialize in the following nutrition concerns:
Disordered eating
Emotional eating/overeating
My approach is to help you break away from the eat-repent-repeat cycle. I promote changes that will be sustainable for life and optimal for your health. Learning how to give yourself permission to eat without feeling deprived or out of control is possible. I will help you identify solutions to manage emotions and triggers that lead to unbalanced eating patterns, and we will address negative beliefs about food or body size. Additionally, I offer recommendations and encourage you to be involved in the goal-setting process.
With a master’s in public health, I address other aspects of health that can impact metabolism and appetite. This includes activity level, sleep, stress, depression, anxiety, medical conditions, and medications. I encourage you to receive medical or psychological help for certain conditions which may contribute to weight changes or unhealthy eating patterns.
I also work with clients who have medical conditions that require diet modification. This includes:
Polycystic o***y syndrome
Irritable bowel syndrome
Gastroparesis
Celiac disease
Food allergies
Diabetes
High blood pressure
High cholesterol/triglycerides
I look forward to working with you to restore your health through nutrition and help you on the path to a healthy relationship with food.
