A Prayer For My 57 Years

Heavenly Father,

On my 57th birthday, I come with a heart overflowing with thanks. Thank You for breathing life into me 57 years ago—for every sunlit day and every storm You carried me through.

I don't just want to count my years; I want to make them count. Thank You for my wife Glory Apih, my children, and upcoming grandchildren. Thank You for my parents in glory, whose memories I cherish.

Thank You for 57 years of fingerprints—joys I didn't deserve, strength when I had none, and Your unfailing love every single day.

I dedicate this next year to You.

The Season of Soft Snow.

Just as a path is easily cleared of soft, fresh snow, a child’s heart is most receptive when young. If left untouched, snow hardens into stubborn ice, requiring immense effort to break. So too can a heart become resistant if not guided early. This formative season is the crucial time to instill values and faith.

The wisdom of Proverbs 22:6 reminds us to, “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” By shaping their path in the season of softness, we help lay a foundation for life.
