TRACER teammates took advantage of the weekend weather to practice some Man Tracking at Otter Creek Park. Technology is wonderful in this day and age, but it’s vital to develop versatility! Man tracking in Search and Rescue (SAR) provides critical advantages by identifying a subject's direction of travel, narrowing search areas, and reducing search time. It helps trackers determine the age of tracks, profile the subject's movement, and distinguish clues from others. This skill offers operational efficiency in difficult terrain or when technology fails. Tracking works day or night and works efficiently with other resources!

TRACER is proud to announce the addition of a TerrAdaptor TripodSystem to our equipment cache. This system strengthens our abilityto operate safely and effectively during technical and high-risk scenarios by providing dependable anchoring and support options. This upgrade reflects our continued commitment to readiness, safety, and supporting our responders with the right tools for the job.
TRACER likes to see local problems handled by properlytrained and equipped local agencies. However, when the situation may exceed local capabilities in manpower or equipment, don't hesitate to call. If you are notified of a situation where you may need our help, don't hesitate to put us on stand-by. Call with as much information as you have and update as soon as possible. It is much easier to respond from stand-by than from sudden notice.

Anyone involved in technical rescue work will attest to the value of teamwork. Not only with your team members, but equally with additional agencies working towards the same goals. Large scale events like this weeks flooding depend heavily on that principle. Multiple agencies worked seamlessly and without hesitation to rescue and transport those trapped by this devastation. And under the coordination Hardin County Emergency Management, all resources that were needed and available were quickly and effectively utilized. Thanks go out to the many divergent agencies that came to the aid of those in need.
