GavrinLaw
A boutique law firm focused on providing the highest level of estate planning to Pennsylvania and New Jersey individuals and families of all shapes and sizes.
I typically give my clients two pieces of advice:
It's your money. You worked your ass off for it. You do what you want with it. Your kids aren't entitled to anything. Do what makes you happy...which very well may include leaving an inheritance to your children.
Talk with your children about your plan. It can be uncomfortable, but it's so important. And if you don't, and they have questions, they won't be able to ask you when you're gone.
What do you think of this advice?

People often tell me they want to wait until things “settle down” before doing estate planning.
But we all know that life rarely slows down. Changes aren’t permanent. Change is.
Waiting for the “right time” is one of the most common reasons people end up unprepared.
Marriage, children, moves, health, new assets - these are all moments when having a professional estate plan matters most.
If your life has changed in any meaningful way, it may be time to review or create your plan.
I’m happy to talk through your specific situation and help you decide next steps.

One of the biggest surprises families face after a loved one passes away is how little authority they actually have, even with good intentions.
Accounts can be frozen.
Property can’t be transferred immediately.
Decisions can’t be made without proper legal authority.
This is where estate administration becomes real, and often urgent.
Understanding this process ahead of time can spare families unnecessary stress, delays, and conflict during an already difficult period.
If you’re navigating estate administration now, or want to ensure your family isn’t caught off guard later, I’m here to guide you through it.

Most people don’t avoid estate planning because they don’t care.
They avoid it because it feels overwhelming, uncomfortable, or easy to postpone.
But here’s the reality:
If you don’t make these decisions yourself, the law will make them for you, and your family will live with the outcome.
Estate planning is less about finding the “perfect” plan and more about getting something solid in place.
If you’ve been meaning to do this “at some point,” this is your reminder that later isn’t guaranteed.
If you’re ready to stop postponing, I’m here to help.
