Imbolc, celebrated at the beginning of February, marks the midpoint between the Winter Solstice and the Spring Equinox. It is a time of "the quickening"—the first stirrings of life deep within the earth. Associated with the Goddess Brigid (and later St. Brigid), it is a festival of hearth, home, and the returning light.
